Ramble SATURDAY 2009-02-14: Museum of Islamic Art

Description: As another in the “Qatar Heritage” ramble series, we will take a stroll along the Corniche and then visit the Museum of Islamic Art. You heard Oliver Watson talk about the marvels of this museum; now come and see them for yourselves in the company of other QNHG members.

Date: 2009-02-14. Please note that this is a SATURDAY ramble, since the museum is closed Friday morning.

Time: 09:30

Ramble Duration: Two to three hours. About three kilometers of walking.

Venue: We will meet at the Asian Games Ory Mascot on the Corniche across from Post Office (GPS Coordinates 25° 18.453'N 51° 31.173'E). We will walk along the Corniche to be at the museum when it opens at 10:30. Participants will be free to visit the museum on their own timetable and leave when they feel like it.

Vehicles: Four-wheel drive is really, seriously, not necessary.

Leaders: Franak Hilloowala and Susan Speer. Call David Mundie, 581-8261, on the morning of the ramble if you have questions.
